Lucinda Morriss

Founder

Lucinda formulates and develops the NOMO Skincare product line from creation of concept to end result of natural organically blended skin elixirs in a bottle.

The process is genuine and driven by a deep interest and experience of working with the skin through her medium as a professional therapist/bodyworker.

Lucinda has been an advocate of natural health in Oxford for 25 years. In 1998 she set up a Natural Health Centre in the heart of Oxford - Eau de Vie Natural Health.

In her own words…

My skin has moved through different expressions throughout my life, from break outs to super dry and sometimes dry itchy patches when I eat too much sugar ! My skin has always been dry and needed support with hydration but otherwise pretty low maintenance. I think partly genetics, my mother now in her early 80's has the most amazing, glowing and healthy skin. She was a model in the late 60's and has always paid attention and taken really good care of her skin. When I hit my mid 40's my skin needed more attention, I was grateful for the experience she shared with me.

As my skin changed I felt the need to nourish and feed it more deeply. Having worked in the natural health field since my late 20's and an advocate of natural plant based products, I was drawn to explore what nature provides.

Alongside my experience of my own skin I have been working as a Bodyworker since 2004, treating my clients through contact with their skin. In my sessions I use a skin balm that I formulated over 4 years ago made from natural plant butters, oils and active botanicals. This skin balm became the foundation from which I started to expand my research.

I teamed up with Dr Elizabeth Spencer, a skilled researcher and together we started to compile a catalogue of natural plant extracts, oils, waxes and botanicals. Discovering the potency and potential of each plant ingredient was an exciting process that inspires my formulations to take shape.

My aim with NOMO Skincare is to create beautiful skin care that delivers the potency of nature to support healthy vibrant skin. My love of nature and how it supports us leads me to create a brand that uses good practices that respect the environment, with minimal packaging and waste, biodegradable where possible and hopefully reusable.

I have created these products over time - developing each formula until I am 100% happy with each of them. Some of my formulas have been through numerous iterations until I have developed the product that delivers exactly what I envisaged. I love these products. Liz researches our plant ingredients, unearthing relevant information on each element of our products and setting it out in Nomo’s Plant Power Encyclopaedia.

Liz has spent over two decades in academic research exploring nutrition and lifestyle behaviours associated with health. She holds a doctorate in Health Science, a master’s of Medical Science in Human Nutrition and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, and has always been interested in earth-friendly living and compassionate self-care. Liz brings a depth and range of knowledge to our understanding of each of our selected ingredients, forming the heart of our process to create the best possible skincare products.
